Prayer is a conversation with God. He knows your needs before you even speak them but He loves you and longs to hear your voice. We can pray anywhere at any time and there isn’t a right or wrong way to do it. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Prayer gives us an opportunity to open our hearts to Jesus who then takes our request to His Father on our behalf.
We can talk to Him about anything: a decision we need help with, a friend that’s hurting, a worry on our mind, or a toothache that just won’t go away. Ask God for wisdom during tough times, who He would like you to comfort, to keep your family safe, and for forgiveness when you’ve made a mistake. Always remember to be grateful to God for everything He provides.
Over time, prayer becomes as natural as breathing. We can talk to Jesus while driving, resting, or working. He hears your short, quick prayer the same as He receives your lengthy tear-filled one. God delights in our voice and wants to hear it more often. Just remember to thank Him when He answers your prayer and thank Him even more when He doesn’t!
